Overview

EDM Wrapped is designed to be privacy-first. Your YouTube watch history is processed locally in your browser to generate your recap. By default, we do not upload your raw watch history or personal data to any server.

Data You Provide

To generate your recap, you may import a Google Takeout file containing your YouTube watch history. This file typically includes video titles and URLs. We do not require or use identifiers that link the data back to your Google Account.

  • Local-only processing: your watch history is parsed and analyzed in your browser memory.
  • No persistent storage: closing or refreshing the page clears the imported data.

Anonymous Summary Data

After your Wrapped is generated, we may record anonymous summary statistics to help us understand overall trends and improve the product. For example: top DJ sets or aggregate counts for the current year. These summaries do not include your raw watch history or personal identifiers and cannot be linked back to you.

  • No raw watch history, video URLs, or account identifiers are stored.
  • No tracking cookies or cross-site analytics are used.
  • We focus on aggregated insights (e.g., popular sets across all users).

Cookies and Analytics

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics that follow you across the web. Any metrics we collect are aggregate and unlinkable to an individual.

Security

Because your watch history is processed locally, exposure is minimized. If we store anonymous summary data, we take reasonable measures to protect it in transit and at rest.

Your Choices

  • Use the demo to preview the experience without importing any data.
  • Close or refresh the page at any time to clear imported data from memory.
  • If you prefer not to contribute anonymous summary insights, refrain from generating a final recap (only the final step records anonymized summaries).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
